Do better today
improve tomorrow.

Our HOPE project represents our commitment to more responsible fashion.

Its objective is to seek the best possible alternatives between responsibility and sustainability .

This project will evolve over the years, depending on market innovations (innovative raw materials, new zero-waste processes, etc.). It is therefore part of a long-term vision and allows the continuous improvement of our products.

To date, two versions of the project have emerged: Hope #1 and Hope #2.

B0 - Hope #1

02/21/2021

The B0 Hope #1 was the first model born from this initiative. For this first version, we decided to use a zero-waste sole, integrating rubber scraps from other defective soles. On the leather side, we have chosen to work with the Italian tannery Mastrotto, certified LWG Gold ( Leather Working Group ). This strict certification is awarded to tanneries that minimize their environmental impact at every stage of the production chain. Since the release of the B0 Hope #1, the use of this leather has been generalized across all of our ranges.

The B0 Hope #1, in brief

  • Handmade in Portugal

  • Leather tanned in Italy by Mastrotto, a tannery certified Gold by the LWG ( Leather Working Group )

  • Italian zero-waste Margom sole in recycled rubber, glued and sewn

  • GOTS organic cotton lining

  • 100% cotton laces

  • Delivered with a transport pouch

Why did you use leather on this pair?

Leather is a material that we particularly like. It has natural properties ideal for sneakers (resistant, breathable and anti-bacterial...).

In addition, we consider that leather is a recycled material, since it is waste from the food industry (if the skins are not processed, they are incinerated or buried).

In February 2021, the alternatives to leather that we had tried (grape, apple, pineapple imitation leather) had not brought us satisfaction: all the prototypes that we had made had proved to be too fragile over time.

B5-Hope

02/09/2022

This second pair was the occasion to imagine our first Vegan model. A model that was born thanks to the discovery of a new material based on corn, produced in Italy. In addition to the use of this imitation corn leather, we have chosen to give contrast to the pair by adding Portuguese cork. We also find the scraps in the sole.

The B5 Hope, in brief

  • Handmade in Portugal

  • Vegan faux leather, made in Italy from non-edible corn

  • Soles in recycled TR and cork particles, produced in Portugal
  • Vegan “leather” and recycled textile lining

  • Natural cork insole

  • GOTS certified organic cotton laces

Our HOPE project is only in its infancy and we hope to present you, in the months and years to come, many new innovative and responsible creations.

You also have a role to play in contributing to more responsible fashion, by adopting simple gestures:

1. Check your shoe size carefully.
Product returns are CO2 generators, take the time to take a good look at your size, and don't hesitate to ask us for help if you have any doubts.

2. Take care of your sneakers.
You can significantly extend the life of your sneakers by following the care instructions included in each of our boxes.
